DoorProtect G3 Fibra

Opening detector with shock, tilt, and magnetic masking sensors

FAQ

The distance between the magnet and the DoorProtect G3 Fibra detector depends on the surface material.

In case of the DoorProtect G3 Fibra installation on metal surfaces (e.g., in a safe), the distance between the detector and the magnet should be 5 mm maximum. Make sure to use spacers.

What are the DoorProtect G3 Fibra spacers for

In case of the DoorProtect G3 Fibra installation on non-metallic surfaces (e.g., on a plastic window or wooden door), the distance between the detector and the magnet should be 1 cm maximum.

After installing the detector, perform the Detection Zone Test and calibrate the magnetic masking sensor. If the detector is installed incorrectly, the system will notify you of an error when trying to calibrate the detector.

The sensitivity level of the magnetic masking sensor depends on the DoorProtect G3 Fibra detector installation site, i.e. on the presence of probable sources of false triggerings.

This can cause false triggerings of the magnetic masking sensor:

  1. Sliding systems and roller shutter due to prolonged magnet sliding over the detector during closing/opening.
  2. Doors with a door closer due to prolonged magnet sliding over the detector during closing/opening. The distance between the detector and a third-party electromagnet (e.g., a door closer) must be more than 1 cm.
  3. Safe doors due to their heavy weight. Prolonged magnet sliding over the detector during closing/opening can cause false triggerings.
  4. Window ventilation mode. When the window is opened for ventilation, the detector approaches its magnet and may perceive it as an attempt to mask it. To avoid false triggerings, install the detector on the upper part of the window.

To avoid false triggerings, the Low or Normal sensitivity level should be set. If you do not have any sources of false triggerings, and it is important to detect any threats as quickly as possible, you can set the High sensitivity level.

Calibration of the DoorProtect G3 Fibra magnetic masking sensor is important for the correct operation of the device and instant detection of the attempt to use fraudulent magnets.

The sensor should be calibrated immediately after adding it to the system or if the installation location has been changed. Calibration is performed when the primary detector’s contact is closed.

When the sensor is being calibrated, the system registers the magnetic field value at the detector’s installation site. This value will be taken as normal. The detector compares the current magnetic field value with the one recorded during calibration and identifies the differences.

If an intruder attempts to mask DoorProtect G3 Fibra in the armed mode with a fraudulent magnet, the detector will instantly send an alarm to the hub. The hub will activate the sirens connected to the system, trigger scenarios, and notify users and the security company.

DoorProtect G3 Fibra has two spacers in the set. What are they for:

  • To install the detector or the magnet on a metal surface.
  • To reduce the distance between the detector and the magnet. For example, when you need to align the magnet with the detector on a door or window.

DoorProtect G3 Fibra complies with the Grade 3 security class and is designed to protect high-risk facilities. The device can be installed on:

  • doors (including armored, safe doors);
  • windows with ventilation mode;
  • panoramic windows;
  • skylights;
  • showcases;
  • sliding systems;
  • roller shutters.

DoorProtect G3 Fibra has two reed switches so that the magnet can be installed both on the left or right of the detector. The device works correctly with one magnet on one side only.

The front lid of DoorProtect G3 Fibra can be rotated 180° during installation. If wires are routed from the bottom of the detector, the magnet must be mounted in such a way that the screw is also positioned from the bottom.

Use spacers to install the detector or the magnet on a metal surface or to reduce the distance between the detector and the magnet.

You can rotate the detector 90° relative to the magnet to reduce the distance between the detector and the magnet.

You do not need to install the magnet near the detector if you want to use only the shock and/or tilt sensor. Disable the primary detector and the magnetic masking sensor in the DoorProtect G3 Fibra settings.
