Module for connecting Ajax security systems to third-party VHF transmitters

FAQ

The identifier (ID) is the serial number of the device. It is located under the QR code on the body, board, and packaging of the device.

The ID can also be found in the device states in the Ajax app.

  1. Sign in to the Ajax app.
  2. Select the required hub from the list if you have several of them or if you are using a PRO app.
  3. Go to the Devices menu.
  4. Select a device from the list. Device ID information is located at the bottom of the status screen.

vhfBridge has 8 zones. Zone types are configured in the Ajax app.

See the list of zone types in the User Manual.

vhfBridge communicates with the hub using the secure proprietary Jeweller protocol, so connection to third-party security systems is not provided.

vhfBridge also cannot be connected to third-party security systems, because it is not compatible with uartBridge and ocBridge Plus integration modules.

The minimum cable length for connecting a VHF transmitter to vhfBridge is 2 meters, and the maximum cable length is 7 meters.

It is important to keep to the minimum value to avoid signal overlapping. Exceeding the maximum cable length will result in signal attenuation.

In this case, events and alarms are transmitted simultaneously via two channels: via the internet and via vhfBridge.

Transmission via the internet works as the main communication channel due to its greater reliability and information capacity. The transmitted events can contain the zone number of the triggered detector, group, user, and other data.

vhfBridge works as a backup communication channel, duplicating all events transmitted via the internet.

The delivery speed of events and alarms in both cases does not exceed 1 second.

The following vhfBridge outputs work in the bistable mode:

  • arming status
  • hub power
  • vhfBridge power
  • hub battery status
  • vhfBridge battery status

The rest of the outputs work in the pulse mode.

vhfBridge provides two types of outputs: positive trip and negative trip. The type of outputs is set in the Ajax app.

vhfBridge can supply the VHF transmitter with 12 V DC, 2 A power.

If the current consumption of the VHF transmitter is more than 2 A, it can be connected directly to the vhfBridge battery.

In this case, turn off battery charge tracking in the vhfBridge settings, so that system users do not receive notifications about a long battery charge.

vhfBridge provides two types of outputs: positive trip and negative trip. The type of outputs is set in the Ajax app.

vhfBridge can be connected to VHF transmitters with relay inputs. Connection via UART, RS-485, and other interfaces is not supported.
