FAQ

The bundled capacitor is a device intended to provide sufficient power supply for LightSwitch and stable operation of lamps in the following cases:

  • the power of the lamp is below the minimum requirement (refer to the table);
  • the turned-off lamp is flashing;
  • LightSwitch is malfunctioning or unstable.
LightSwitch model Minimum required power of the lamp
LightSwitch (1-gang) Jeweller
LightSwitch (2-gang) Jeweller
LightSwitch (2-way) Jeweller
5 W

Note: even if the power of the lamp exceeds the minimum requirement, but LightSwitch or lamp still operates unstably, the bundled capacitor should be connected.

The bundled capacitor should be connected in parallel with the lighting device according to the following diagram: in a lamp socket or terminal board nearby.

For two-gang models of LightSwitch, the bundled capacitor should be connected in parallel with the lighting device as follows:

In the Ajax app:

  1. Select a hub if you have several of them or if you are using the PRO app.
  2. Go to the Devices menu.
  3. Select LightSwitch in the list.
  4. Go to its settings by clicking on the gear icon .
  5. Go to the Scenarios menu.
  6. Create a scenario following the prompts of the app. The following types of scenarios are available:
    • By alarm.
    • Reaction to security mode change.
    • By schedule.
    • By switch (LightSwitch) actuation.
    • By temperature.

Scenarios by humidity and CO2 concentration are available when LifeQuality is added to the system. Scenarios by Button pressing are created in the Button settings. And scenarios by temperature are created in the settings for the device according to the temperature of which the scenario should be launched.

LightSwitch is designed for indoor installation only. Installing the device outdoors may cause it to fail.

There are two formats of LightSwitch switches: single and combined ones.

A single LightSwitch consists of a LightCore relay and a SoloButton touch-sensitive panel.

A combined LightSwitch consists of several LightCore relays and touch-sensitive panels (CenterButton and/or SoloButton). Panels and relays are installed in one Frame with the appropriate number of seats.

The side touch-sensitive panels are installed on the right and left sides of the frame, and the central touch-sensitive panels are in the center. For example, two side panels and one central panel should be used for three switches in one frame.

The maximum distance between the hub and the device can reach 2,000 meters in an open space.

Walls, ceilings, and other structures that interfere with the radio signal to get through can significantly reduce the range. In this case, maximum distance mainly depends on the structures’ material, thickness, and arrangement.

You can expand the coverage area of Ajax security systems with the help of radio signal range extenders

By default, the hub is set to a hub–detector ping interval of 36 seconds and 30 undeliverable data packets to consider the device lost. With these settings, the hub will detect the loss of the detector in 18 minutes.

To reduce this time, go to the hub settings in the Jeweller section and change the settings. The minimum time for detecting loss of connection with the device is 36 seconds (3 polls of 12 seconds each).

The time before raising the alarm by the communication loss between hub and device is calculated with the following formula:

Detector Ping Interval × Number of missed pings to determine connection failure

Note that with the minimum ping interval, short-term interference can lead to loss of connection with the device. Therefore, set the minimum values only if it is critically important to promptly inform about events in the system.

The loop (zone) number is required to describe all devices connected to the hub when adding a protected facility to the security company monitoring station.

The number is assigned when adding a device to the hub. The first added device has the first loop (zone) number. After removing the device from the system, its number becomes available. This number can be assigned to the next device to be added to the system.

The loop (zone) number is available in the states of each device in the Ajax app:
