Ajax Services user manual

Updated

Ajax Services is an umbrella term covering the broad set of tools and capabilities designed to empower partners. Through our advanced digital infrastructure and cloud-based approach, we deliver valuable services to enhance product experience. Ajax Services expand software possibilities, improve signaling, and streamline security management.

This guide describes the step-by-step process of connecting a company to Ajax Services, including creating an account, receiving dealer status, managing employees, and activating services.

Creating a Company

To start providing Ajax Services, you need to register a PRO company using the PRO Desktop app.

Special builds of this software are provided via email. If you have not received one, please contact Technical Support. If you already have a PRO company, please proceed to the next case.

To create a company:

  1. Open PRO Desktop.
  2. Log in to your PRO account.
  3. If you are logged in with a company account, switch to your personal PRO account.
  4. Go to the Company module.
  5. Click Create company.
  6. Fill in your company information and follow the app’s instructions.

Keep in mind that the person registering the company is assigned to the role of Company owner. You will not be able to change the owner afterward. The Company owner’s rights are necessary to complete the next step.

Becoming a dealer

To connect Ajax Services, you need to enroll as a dealer. Since Ajax operates in many countries, and Ajax Services are not available worldwide, you will need to enroll your company to provide them.

Only company owners can enroll their companies.

To become a dealer:

  1. Log in to your Company account.
  2. Go to Services settings in the Company tab.
  3. Click on Extra Ajax services.
  4. Fill in the required information and click Activate.
  5. You will see a new tab available in the navigation bar.

After that, you can add your reseller and start onboarding customers.

Creating a Service Manager role

This step is not necessary if you plan to manage Ajax Services as the Company owner.

Service managers are employees of your company responsible for managing Ajax Services. They handle tasks related to Ajax Services, including:

  • Managing connection requests between dealers and resellers.

  • Package management (activation, suspension, resumption, and deactivation).
  • Dashboard access.

Only the Company owner can create accounts for service managers and grant or revoke their rights.

You will see two roles: Senior Service Manager and Service Manager. The Senior Service Manager role will imply additional access rights in the future, such as access to the financial information and the ability to suspend accounts. Currently, both roles share the same rights.

You can change an employee’s role at any time.

Remember that your employees need to create their own PRO accounts before you can add them to your company.

To assign a Service Manager role:

  1. Log in to your Company account.
  2. Go to Employees in the Company tab.
  3. Click the Add employee button.
  4. Enter the email address of the employee you want to assign to the Service Manager role.
  5. Click Add.
  6. You will see the new employee on the list of employees.
  7. The new employee will get an email with the invitation to join the company.
  8. Now the new employee can log in to PRO Desktop, click the icon in the top-right corner of the screen (icon with a person in a baseball cap), and select the company they’ve been invited to.

Sending a connection request to a reseller

Resellers are third-party monitoring companies that distribute Ajax Services to dealers.

A dealer company must send a connection request to the reseller but only one request per reseller. The reseller must approve such a request. This is the final step in the onboarding process for dealers.

To send a connection request to a reseller:

  1. Log into your Company account.
  2. Go to the Services tab.
  3. Open the Your Resellers menu.
  4. Click Add reseller, select your country, and choose the reseller you want to connect to. If you cannot see your reseller on the list, click Invite by email.
    1. Enter the email of the reseller company or select the reseller from the list.
    2. Information about the reseller invited or found by email will be displayed on the screen.
    3. Click the Send request button.
  5. You will see the request you have sent at the top of the list.
  6. Wait for the reseller to approve your request.
  7. Once the request is approved, you can start activating Ajax Services for your accounts.

Activating Ajax Services

Installers and Service Managers of a dealer company can manage Ajax Services: activate, suspend (pause), resume (unpause), and deactivate (delete) them. Ajax Services can be activated through both Ajax PRO (for Installers) and PRO Desktop (for Installers and Service Managers).

Keep in mind that only employees of a dealer company can activate Ajax Services.

Please make sure the hub you are trying to activate Ajax Services on has an Ajax SIM installed.

To activate Ajax Services:

  1. Log in to your Company account.
  2. Go to the Objects tab.
  3. Select the Object you want to activate Ajax Services for.
  4. On the device list, click on the Activation required tile under the hub. You can also activate Ajax Services from the hub’s info screen by clicking this same tile.
  5. As there is only one Package available, it will be preselected.
  6. If you have only one reseller, it will be preselected. If you have multiple resellers, you will need to select the one you want to activate Ajax Services with. Ajax will bill this reseller for the account you are activating.

  7. Click Activate on the confirmation pop-up.
  8. You will see a star icon among the hub status icons and the Activated tile under the hub on both the device list and info screen.
  9. Now Ajax Services are activated for this account.

Deactivating Ajax Services from the start of the next month

An installer or Service Manager of a dealer company can deactivate Ajax Services for an account. Deactivation means Ajax Services will be available until the end of the month and will be finally deactivated on the 1st day of the following month.

Deactivated Services can be resumed at any time.

To deactivate Ajax Services:

  1. Log in to your Company account.
  2. Go to the Objects tab.
  3. Select the object you want to suspend Ajax Services for.
  4. On the device list, click the Activated tile under the hub. You can also suspend Ajax Services from the hub’s info screen by clicking this same tile.
  5. Click Deactivate.
  6. Click Deactivate on the confirmation pop-up.
  7. You will see the Services expire soon screen.
  8. Also, you will see the Access to some features may expire if not activated tile.

Resuming Ajax Services

Resuming Ajax Services means the services will not be deactivated on the 1st day of the following month.

Installers and Service Managers can resume Ajax Services at any time.

To resume Ajax Services:

  1. Log in to your Company account.
  2. Go to the Objects tab.
  3. Select the object you want to resume Ajax Services for.
  4. On the device list, click the Expires soon tile under the hub. You can also resume Ajax Services from the hub’s info screen by clicking this same tile.
  5. Click Resume.
  6. Click Resume on the confirmation pop-up.
  7. You will see the Services activated screen.

Deactivating (Stop now) Ajax Services

When the end user decides to cancel the services you provide as a dealer, you can deactivate Ajax Services.

An installer or Service Manager of a dealer company can stop the Services both when they are active and while they are pending to expire at the start of the following month. In this case, the Services will be deactivated immediately. If the service is Ajax SIM, the SIM card will be also deactivated immediately.

Keep in mind that you will not be able to delete a dealer company from the system if there are active Ajax Services. The same applies to transferring hub configuration: you will need to deactivate Ajax Services prior to transferring data or deleting your company from the system.

To deactivate Ajax Services:

  1. Log in to your Company account.
  2. Go to the Objects tab.
  3. Select the object you want to deactivate Ajax Services for.
  4. On the device list, click the Active or Expires soon tile under the hub.
  5. Click Stop now.
  6. Click Stop on the confirmation pop-up.
  7. You will see the device list with the Activation required tile, and the SIM card will stop working.
