What is the difference between Socket Plus (type G) and Socket (type G)

Updated

Socket Plus (type G) has arc fault protection that the standard Socket (type G) model does not have. All other parameters and features of sockets are similar.

An electric arc is a prolonged electric discharge between two conductors with high current density and low voltage.

It occurs when conductor insulation is damaged. For example, in an extension cord with a broken cable. The arc can damage the device connected to the smart plug or the plug itself and cause a fire.

Protection is activated immediately if an arc or sparking occurs in the device connected to the plug.
