What affects the amount of cellular data a hub uses?

Updated

The following factors affect the amount of cellular data used by the hub:

  • Hub-server polling interval
  • Monitoring station polling interval
  • Type of connection of the monitoring station: on-demand or permanent
  • Number of reconnections of the hub with the server or monitoring station
  • Number of devices – the more devices, the higher the cellular data consumption
  • Type of connected devices (for instance, LifeQuality Jeweller typically sends more data than DoorProtect Jeweller)
  • Radio situation at the site – frequent changes in radio noise levels increase cellular data consumption
  • Some cellular provider conditions, such as session termination and traffic rounding by the provider, can increase the amount of cellular data usage.
